Sewing Course Overview
This adults sewing course is designed for both beginners (who have never used a sewing machine before) and intermediate sewists (those with some experience but still learning). It can be taken as a standalone class or as the perfect next step after one of the Beginner “Intro to Sewing” workshops taking place in earlier in the year.
Over the sewing course, you’ll build confidence in setting up and using your sewing machine, reading and tackling a commercial pattern, and developing the skills you need to begin sewing projects independently at home.
As part of this course, students will make The Maker’s Atelier Boat Neck Top—a simple, stylish garment that flatters most body shapes and makes an excellent first project for those keen to start making their own clothes. The sewing pattern will be provided in sizes 10–18.
By the end of the sewing course, you’ll not only have a finished top to wear with pride, but also the skills and confidence to take on more projects of your own.
