Workshop Overview
Sewing is a skill so many want to know but perhaps never get around to doing, if you have always wanted to learn how to sew then this is the class for you. This workshop is entry-level, it is for beginners and we hope it will be very relaxing and rewarding. We also have a lovely coffee and tea break on the day with scones...and jam.
By the end of this workshop, you will know how to set up a sewing machine, thread the needle and bobbin, how to read and use a simple pattern and leave with your own tote bag created from a beautiful recycled canvas made from recycled plastic bottles and pre-consumer cotton. Certified by the Global Recycled Standard (GRS).
This workshop has been designed to give students the confidence to go home and start to tackle sewing projects or perhaps join us again for a more advanced course such as our Tuesday evening courses.

Nice things people are saying...
"I spent a lovely afternoon with Mia of Creative Assemble, learning how to use a sewing machine and creating a tote bag which I am very proud of. Mia created a warm environment and allowed everyone to work at their own pace. I would definitely recommend Mia and hope to do an advanced class in the future."

"I did the 4 hour introductory class with Mia from Creative Assemble. It was so enjoyable. I learnt so much. Everything was organised so well. Mia is a patient teacher and packed so much into the day. She created a lovely atmosphere for all of us. We left delighted with the tote bag we made ! I would highly recommend the course to anyone who wants to start using a sewing machine. Fabulous class."
